State program accepting fellowship applications

COLUMBUS — State Sen. Matt Huffman, R-Lima, announced the Legislative Service Commission is accepting applications for the 2019 Legislative and Telecommunications Fellowship Program for the 2018 calendar year.

LSC fellows’ duties include assisting legislators with constituent work, writing press releases and speeches, assisting in policy research, attending meetings and performing administrative duties.

Legislative fellowship application materials must be postmarked by April 1 for consideration. The application deadline for telecommunication applicants is April 30.

Those applying to the program must have graduated from a four-year degree program by the December start date. Those with graduate or professional degrees may also apply.

A total of 24 fellows will be hired. Salary is $31,200 per year with the opportunity to earn a $2,000 bonus based on length of service with the program. The two telecommunication fellows should have majored or minored in a telecommunications-related field of study or have comparable experience.
