Area fire department get MARCS grant funds

COLUMBUS — Some area fire departments will receive grants to help them buy state-of-the-art Multi-Agency Radio Communications Systems radios.

According to a news release from the State Fire Marshal’s office, 186 fire departments in 54 counties throughout Ohio will receive some sort of help.

In Allen County, the Harrod Volunteer Fire Department will receive $1,440.

In Hancock County, the Union Township-Rawson Fire Department will get $1,800.

In Van Wert County, the Scott Volunteer Fire Department will get $4,200, while the Wilshire Fire Department will receive a grant for $2,640.
