AEP Ohio awards grant to AEDG

LIMA — AEP Ohio is investing more than $160,000 in 21 Ohio communities to help spur economic development. The grants were administered through AEP Ohio’s Local Economic Assistance Program, which is focused on workforce development, corporate expansion, economic development planning, site marketing and infrastructure improvements.

Included in that list is the Allen Economic Development Group, which received $5,000 for developing a “key economic indicator dashboard,” according to a statement from AEP Ohio. The work will help further refine AEDG’s economic development models for the greater Lima region, according to AEDG President and CEO Jeff Sprague.

“This grant will allow us to go in access the data points to look at this from that regional perspective,” he said. “What does the workforce look like today, and what are we trying to build up to for tomorrow?”
