Person drives into Elida house, taken to hospital

ELIDA — A person driving a pick-up truck lost control at about 9 a.m. Thursday and struck a house.

Sgt. Chad Lauck, Allen County Sheriff’s Office, said the driver had a medical condition. The person, whose name and age were not released Thursday, was taken to St. Rita’s Medical Center for treatment.

The driver was northbound on Whippoorwill Avenue at Chickadee Place. The person’s truck struck a telephone pole, drove through a yard and hit the rear of a house at 105 Chickadee Place, Lauck said. The residents at this address were not home when the crash happened. The home and vehicle sustained moderate damage.
