City gives Lima Pride Home Awards

LIMA — Angie Rex, property maintenance code inspector at the city of Lima, announced the fourth quarter Lima Pride Home Awards winners during the mayor’s weekly news conference.

Winning for the southwest sector was Mary Simpson, of 517 South Shore Drive. Simpson was not present.

Winners of the southeast sector was Gary and Sheila Frueh, of 920 E. Eureka.

“We’ve lived in Lima at that property for 33 years and we have enjoyed our community. I’ve lived here almost all my life, and we just enjoy and have accepted responsibility of maintaining our property,” said Gary Frueh.

Selected properties must meet Lima Property Maintenance Code standards, the property owner may not have any property maintenance violations on any property they own, and the selected property must exemplify pride in ownership and provide a model of maintenance for the neighborhood.

Award winners are presented with a Lima Pride Home Plaque containing a picture of their home and a Lima Pride Home Award winner yard sign to be displayed at their property until the next winners are selected.
