Allen Co. Sheriff releases crime stats for September

LIMA — The Allen County Sheriff’s Office investigated 28 assaults, 12 burglaries, three robberies, two motor vehicle thefts and one incident of rape during September, according to statistics provided by the department this week.

There were also a total of 46 incidents of theft investigated by deputies in September.

Of the assault cases countywide during the month, 17 of the investigations took place in Lima, seven occurred in Elida and two cases were reported in both Spencerville and Elida.

Of the burglaries investigated, four took place in Lima, four occurred in Elida and one incident each was investigated in Spencerville, Beaverdam, Lafayette and Harrod.

Both motor vehicle thefts took place in Lima, as did the single case of rape investigated during the month. Of the three robbery cases, two occurred in Lima and the remaining incident took place in Elida, according to the report.
