SIDNEY — Four people were in custody after Sidney police officers were involved in the pursuit of a vehicle that was involved in a burglary in progress.
According to the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office, shortly after 3 a.m. deputies responded to help Sidney Police Department officers who were chasing a vehicle northbound on state Route 29, but lost sight of the car. A sheriff’s deputy then found the vehicle as it traveled west on state Route 705.
The vehicle lost control and the occupants fled in a nearby cornfield.
Taken into custody was Rikki E. Nooks, 20, of Dayton, along with three boys.
