Female sought in connection with armed robbery at Lima liquor store

LIMA — Lima police are attempting to identify a female associated with an armed robbery at Duke’s Liquor Store on Thursday evening.

Police were called to the establishment at 630 N. Main St. shortly after 7 p.m. in reference to an attempted armed robbery.

Detective Steve Stechschulte of the Lima Police Department said a female entered the store with a gun in her hand and demanded that an employee of the bar open the cash register. When things did not go as planned, the suspect fled the scene, Stechschulte said.

A surveillance camera photo of the suspect was posted to social media, and Stechschulte said tips from the public are being followed. The detective said he hopes the suspect “might turn herself it” after learning her photo had been posted to social media outlets.

Anyone with info on the female in the photo is asked to contact Stechschulte at 419-812-0059, Crime Stoppers at 419-229-STOP (7867) or Lima Police Department social media.
