Sunday morning fire in Shawnee Township

SHAWNEE TOWNSHIP — A passer-by noticed smoke at a home at a Shawnee Township residence located at 906 Berryman Boulevard and quickly reported it Sunday morning.

According to Shawnee Township Fire Chief Todd Truesdale, the call came in at approximately 6:40 a.m. Sunday morning. There was no one home at the time of the fire.

“There is significant damage to the interior from smoke and heat, ” Truesdale said. “There is significant damage on the first and second floors, as well as the basement due to fall down.”

According to the auditor’s website, the home is owned by Tiffany Hines and is valued at $81,300. Hines purchased the house in 2015. Shawnee Township Fire Investigator Ryan Schott was called to determine the cause of the fire. It is still under investigation.
