LIMA — Family members found Lima’s second homicide victim of the year Sunday afternoon when they became concerned they hadn’t heard from him.
They discovered 47-year-old Shannon T. Scott sitting in his living room at 621 Michael Ave., shot dead with a handgun, said Detective Sean Neidemire of the Lima Police Department.
“They hadn’t heard from him, and they went over there to check on him, found him, and called us immediately,” Neidemire said. “We showed up, determined he had been shot, and he was deceased. It is a homicide at this point.”
Neidemire said investigators were still following up on possible motives in Scott’s death. Anyone with information should call 419-221-5295. There were no persons of interest or suspects identified late Monday.
Scott’s body was sent to the Lucas County Coroner’s Office for an autopsy, which took place Monday.
“We’re still following up on leads,” Neidemire said. “It’s in those stages where everybody is calling because they think they know something, but it’s all rumor and speculation, so we’re still working on it. They’re all rumors and speculation until we follow up on those leads.”
