Minster man charged with exposing self to children

ST. MARYS — The St. Marys Police Department arrested a Minster man Friday for exposing himself to children in two St. Marys public parks.

According to a statement from the Police Department, at about 1:30 p.m. Friday, officials received a call with a complaint of a man who had exposed himself to children in the Armstrong Park area of St. Marys.

This was followed by a second call reporting a man exposed himself to children at the Kiwanis Park, located on Beech Street in St. Marys. That report said the man was attempting to entice the children with fidget spinners and, when they approached, he exposed himself to them.

Officers searched the area and shared a description of the man and his vehicle with local law enforcement agencies and on social media. The description led to information provided by the Minster Police Department that led to the arrest of Chad A. Ralston, 39, of 106 1/2 N. Main St., Minster.

Ralston was jailed in the Auglaize County Jail on a charge of importuning, a third-degree felony, and public indecency, a first-degree misdemeanor.
