Third-graders from SS. Peter and Paul Catholic School in Ottawa look at their hands under a black light Wednesday afternoon during the 18th annual Farm Safety Day at the Dale Gerding Farm west of Glandorf. Facilitators put a special dust on containers of chemicals to help the children see how chemicals can spread when handled. The sessions also included a mock ATV accident including a visit from Life Flight, water safety, gun safety, electrical safety, tractor/power take-off safety, lawnmower safety, grain safety and poison safety. Every school from Putnam County was scheduled to attend Wednesday or Thursday.
