Celina Police Department arrests armed robbery suspect

CELINA — The Celina Police Department located and arrested a man in connection to the armed robbery at the Best Western Hotel, 2020 Holiday Drive, Celina.

Police said at 4:15 p.m., Sunday, 34-year-old Clay A. Junod produced a handgun, grabbed a female clerk and demanded cash. He left the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash, fleeing the area on foot.

The Celina Police Department was assisted by deputies from the Mercer County Sheriff’s Office as well as the Mercer County Prosecutor, Matthew K. Fox. Judge James J. Scheer issued the arrest warrant for Junod on a charge of aggravated robbery.
