LIMA — A Lima man was shot and killed early Monday at a closed restaurant in Shawnee Township.
Investigators questioned nine people after the body of Damere Oliphant, 20, of 1032 W. Spring Street, Lima, was found at the closed Taco Bell at 2290 Shawnee Road.
The shooting happened around 2:20 a.m. Monday, said Shawnee Township Police Department Chief Mike Keith.
Crews from the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation spent part of Monday morning processing the scene at apartments at 111 Cam Court, where Keith said the fatal shooting occurred.
Keith said the path was relatively easy to track, as there was a blood trail from the apartments. The incident happened outside one apartment, and a search warrant was executed in apartment 42.
Authorities originally questioned four people before bringing in another five people to discuss the death, Keith said.
The Shawnee Township Police Department released no further information on the shooting late Monday.
