Chicago player speaks at Findlay alumnus breakfast
FINDLAY — NFL defensive back and University of Findlay alumnus Harold Jones-Quartey will speak at the Fridays at Findlay event at 7:30 a.m. Friday in the Winebrenner Theological Seminary’s TLB Auditorium.
Jones-Quartey began his professional football career with the Chicago Bears after graduating in 2015 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in criminal justice. He played in all 16 games for the Bears this season and was a starter for 12 of them. His record includes 78 total tackles, making him the second-leading tackler on the team. His 66 solo tackles ranks him as eighth in the NFL among players in his position.

Blufton plans winter instrumental concert
BLUFFTON — Bluffton University’s Concert Band will host a free 2017 Winter Instrumental Concert at 2:30 p.m. Feb. 19 in Yoder Recital Hall, at Bluffton University, 280 W. College Ave., Bluffton. This concert is open to the public.
The concert, under the direction of Roy Couch, director of bands, will include a setting of hymns by Charles Albert Tindley, a march by Stephen Bulla and a collection of Welsh folk tunes by Albert Oliver Davis, Ed Huckeby and Sean O’Loughlin.
Presser to discuss law approaches at ONU
ADA — Stephen B. Presser, legal scholar and author, will discuss “Do Law Professors Really Understand American Law?” at noon Feb. 16 in the moot courtroom at Ohio Northern University’s Pettit College of Law, 415 S. Gilbert St. Room 119, Ada.
This talk is part of the Dean’s Lecture Series and is co-sponsored by ONU’s student chapter of the Federalist Society. The talk is free and open to the public.
Presser is the Raoul Berger professor of legal history emeritus at Northwestern University’s Pritzker School of Law. He is a leading American legal historian and an expert on shareholder liability for corporate debts. He is a frequent commentator on constitutional law and the co-author of a casebook on the subject.
Enrollment begins for UNOH programs
LIMA — The University of Northwest Ohio is now enrolling students for its One-Night-a-Week Associate, Bachelor and Master Degree programs for Spring Quarter. Classes begin April 3.
The Associate and Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration classes meet every Tuesday evening from 6 to 10 p.m. The Master of Business Administration program meets every Wednesday evening from 6 to 10 p.m.
UNOH will be hosting two open house events for those interested in the MBA Degree, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Feb. 16 and March 2 at the Student Commons Building on the UNOH campus, 1739 Hartzler Road, Lima. Interested students may stop by at any time during the open house to learn about the MBA curriculum, fill out an application and meet some of the professors.

ONU student, faculty, present at meeting
ADA — Ohio Northern University technical studies students Brady Schulte, a senior manufacturing technology major from Ottawa, and Eric Radford, a senior construction management major from Upper Sandusky, presented their research findings “Energy Conservation Audit of a Technology Program” at the annual Association of Technology, Management and Applied Engineering conference in Orlando, Florida.
Schulte and Radford conducted this research to find sustainable and energy-savings techniques and processes that could be employed in ONU’s Taft Memorial Building to reduce the energy needs for the department and assist in making the building more environmentally friendly. Faculty members Rich Miller and Trevor Robinson assisted in the research.
Miller gave two presentations at the conference and participated in the ATMAE Certification Board of Directors meetings. Also participating in the conference were Paul Nutter, chair of the department, and David Rouch.
Paul Dettman received an Epsilon Pi Tau scholarship and was formally initiated into the organization.

HARROGATE, Tenn. — Sarah Brock, of Harrod, earned Dean’s List recognition for the Fall 2016 semester at Lincoln Memorial University, according to university officials.
To be placed on the Dean’s List, the student must be a full-time undergraduate and have a 3.5 grade point average for the semester. Brock is a senior and is majoring in English at LMU.

WESTERVILLE — Lima native Caleb Dee Norton was named to the dean’s list for the fall 2016 semester at Otterbein University.
In order to qualify for the dean’s list, students must be enrolled full time with a grade point average of at least 3.6.

IOWA CITY, Iowa — Neva Adams, a native of Bluffton, has been named to the University of Iowa’s Dean’s List for the 2016 Fall Semester. Adams is a second-year student studying elementary education in UI’s College of Liberal Arts and Sciences.
Adams’ inclusion on the Dean’s List means Adams achieved a grade point average of 3.50 or higher on 12 semester hours or more of UI graded course work, with no course work marked as incomplete or no grade reported.

MADISON, Wis. — Lindsay George, of Findlay, was named to the fall semester dean’s list at University of Wisconsin-Madison. She is a student at the university’s College of Engineering.
