Project set to begin to build sidewalks along Cable Road

LIMA — The City of Lima Engineer’s Office opened bids Wednesday on a project to build 5-foot sidewalks on both sides of Cable Road from Elm Street to Shawnee Road.

The project, with a low bid of $305,000, is expected to start in April and last between a month and a half and two months. Some traffic congestion is to be expected, according to City of Lima engineer Kirk Niemeyer, which will mainly consist of flagging operations to direct traffic.

Americans with Disabilities Act-compliant wheelchair ramps will also be built into the sidewalks.
