Icy roads to blame for Hancock county car accident

FINDLAY — The Findlay post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol was investigating a two-vehicle crash that occurred at about 6:15 a.m. Tuesday on county Road 313 in Eagle Township.

A 1997 Nissan driven by Zoe Benroth, 17, of Mount Cory, was traveling north on county Road 313, when she lost control on the ice-covered road, slid left of center and was struck on the right passenger side by a 2009 BMW driven by Robert Bartenschlager, 47, of Findlay. Benroth was taken to Blanchard Valley Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. All occupants were wearing safety belts and alcohol was not believed to have been a factor in the crash.

Ms. Benroth was cited for driving left of the center line.
