ODOT seeks public input on Allen, Hardin projects

LIMA — The Ohio Department of Transportation District 1 is seeking public comments regarding a pair of proposed local projects.

In Allen County, there is a proposed project to replace eight culverts on state Route 66 beginning near the Auglaize County line and extending north to the southern corporate limits of Spencerville. The culverts outlet into the historic Miami & Erie Canal along the west side of state Route 66. Guardrail and storm drainage along that section of road will also be upgraded and improved as part of this project.

Traffic on state Route 66 will be detoured during construction; however, access to properties will be maintained. Construction for this project is scheduled to occur in the summer of 2019.

In Hardin County, a proposed project would replace a culvert carrying a small stream under state Route 117 near the southwestern corner of Hardin County. The culvert is located under state Route 117 approximately 0.08 miles southeast of the state Route 235 intersection.

Traffic on state Route 117 will be detoured during construction; however, access to properties will be maintained. Construction for this project is scheduled to occur in the fall of 2017.
