Heating bill assistance available this winter

LIMA — The West Central Ohio Community Action Partnership and the Ohio Development Services Agency will once again help eligible Ohio residents with heating bills during the cold winter months through the Home Energy Assistance Program.

Running Tuesday through March 31, the program will help households that have been disconnected or have received a disconnection notice or have less than a 25 percent supply of bulk fuel. Gross incomes for the household must be at or below 175 percent of the federal poverty level. For a family of four, this would equate to an annual income at or below $42,525.

Anyone interested must schedule a face-to-face interview with WOCAP. They must have proof of income, copies of their most recent energy bills, a photo ID, a list of all household members, complete with Social Security numbers and birth dates and proof of citizenship or legal residency.

For information, contact WOCAP at 419-227-2586.
