Case against woman accused of robbing bank sent to grand jury

LIMA — The case against a woman accused of robbing a bank was sent Wednesday to a grand jury for review.

Kaylee Nicole Shoopman, 26, of Pandora, waived her preliminary hearing at Lima Municipal Court. Magistrate Richard Warren sent the case to an Allen County grand jury for consideration.

Warren kept bond at $1 million.

Investigators said Shoopman twice robbed the Fifth Third Bank on Harding Highway earlier this month. The first time she gave the teller a note demanding money. The second time she pulled a weapon and told the teller “Don’t make me hurt you,” a detective said.

The weapon tuned out to be a BB gun, Allen County Sheriff Sgt. Mark Baker said.

Shoopman was arrested based on information witnesses to the robbery provided sheriff deputies about a description of her vehicle. That car later was located in Pandora and Shoopman was arrested.
