Three injured in 2-car crash near Lima

LIMA — The Shawnee Police Department investigated an injury accident that occurred at 5:20 p.m. Monday.

According to the report, Jerry Ormsby, 83, of Cridersville, was driving a 2007 Chrysler Town and Country van north on Kemp Road. Ormsby stopped at the stop sign an the intersection with state Route 117 and failed to notice a vehicle driven by Samantha Meyer, 31, of Lima, who was driving east in a 2007 Kia Soul, and drove into her path.

Both drivers and a passenger in Meyer’s vehicle, Maudi Ford, 54, of Lima, were transported by the American Township Fire Department to St. Rita’s Medical Center in Lima for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Ormsby was cited for failure to yield. Both vehicles suffered heavy damage.
