W-G senior likes to be on the move

WAYNESFIELD — Bailie Barrington does not enjoy sitting down behind a desk.

That pet peeve has affected her choice in a career as she begins her senior year at Waynesfield-Goshen High School.

“I couldn’t do a sit-down job,” Bailie said. “I want to be up and doing something all the time.”

Bailie also enjoys athletics, and has been weightlifting since the seventh grade. She decided to combine that interest with her affection for being on the move into a career in conditioning. When she graduates, she plans to attend Bluffton College to major in strength and conditioning and exercise science.

“I always enjoy helping people,” Bailie said.

Bailie is carrying a 3.8 GPA. She is involved in cross-country, volleyball, indoor and outdoor track, and volleyball. She is also a member of the National Honor Society and Student Council. She is also involved in the Waynesfield All Around Livestock in 4-H. She placed third in showmanship at the Auglaize County Fair.

She said her career choice will give her plenty of options.

“I would like to help in personal training,” Bailie said. “I have a lot of options and a lot of ideas.”

In her spare time, Bailie likes to go camping, go for runs, spend time with her family, or play with her dog, Piper.

“She has always been hardworking and goal-oriented,” said Bailie’s mother, Traci Barrington. “She is very creative and nature-oriented. She is very outdoorsy and she used to build forts in the woods.”

Bailie also has an interest in frogs.

At Bluffton, Bailie plans to participate in the track and cross-country teams.
