Allen County GOP to open campaign center Thursday

LIMA — The Allen County Republican Party will be opening its Victory Center at noon Thursday, according to party Chairman Keith Cheney.

The party’s election headquarters will be at 2062 N. Cable Road in the former Blockbuster Video store. Cheney said the facility will serve as both a call center and a launching point for volunteer efforts.

“The Victory Center will serve as the hub of this year’s Republican campaigns, housing a call center, volunteer door-to-door base, as well as hosting a plethora of volunteer and campaign events,” he said.

The center’s kickoff event on Thursday is free to attend, and Cheney encourages anyone interested to check out the center.

“It’s going to be an exciting venue, and it’s a great opportunity for the public to come in,” he said.

Serving as the keynote speaker for the kickoff event will be U.S. Rep. Jim Jordan, R-Urbana. In addition, state Reps. Bob Cupp, R-Lima, Jim Buchy, R-Greenville, and Robert Sprague, R-Findlay, will also be in attendance, along with Republican National Committee State Deputy Director Scott Santamara and Ohio Senate candidate Matt Huffman.

“All local Republican candidates will also be in attendance,” Cheney said.

Republican Party supporters will also be able to procure Trump/Pence clothing, apparel and campaign buttons at the Victory Center, along with yard signs, an item in high demand, according to Cheney.

“We’ve been getting a lot of requests for those,” he said.

The Republican Victory Center will maintain open hours from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays. For information, contact the Allen County Republican Party at 419-331-5655.
