Ada police officer OK after 2-vehicle collision

ADA — An Ada police officer was in good health after his police cruiser was turned on its side following a collision Monday.

At 1:45 p.m., Sgt. Donald Deckling was traveling east on East North Street in Ada when he was struck on the passenger side by a vehicle traveling north on North Johnson Street, causing the vehicle to be turned onto its side. That vehicle was driven by Summer Miller, of Lima, who was treated at the scene. Miller was cited for failure to yield at the right of way at an intersection.

Deckling was taken to St. Rita’s Medical Center for evaluation, where he was treated, then released.
