Road construction and maintenance projects

Allen County

Interstate 75 from the Auglaize County line to Fourth Street, through Lima and Allen County, will have occasional lane closures throughout the year during the final year of the reconstruction of the interstate. Current and upcoming impacts to traffic are as follows:

Lane closures are occurring throughout the project both northbound and southbound for work in the median.

Traffic on Ohio 65 has been shifted beneath Interstate 75 for completion of the concrete pavement. Traffic shifts and restrictions in this area will continue for the next three weeks.

Traffic on I-75 north and south of the Ohio 65 interchange area continues to travel in a contraflow pattern where two southbound lanes and one northbound lane of traffic are traveling on the southbound side of the interstate, and one northbound lane is traveling on the northbound side of the interstate.

On Friday, August 5, beginning at approximately 7 p.m. and continuing into Saturday, the barrier wall on I-75 in the northbound direction through the contraflow area will be removed. The right-hand, northbound lane will be closed as well as the northbound entrance and exit ramp at Ohio 65.

Exit ramp traffic will be detoured north on Interstate 75 to Fourth Street to Interstate 75 southbound back to Ohio 65.

Entrance ramp traffic will be detoured south on Interstate 75 to Breese Road back to Interstate 75 northbound.

On Tuesday, August 9, beginning at approximately 7 p.m. and continuing into Saturday, the barrier wall on I-75 in the southbound direction through the contraflow area will be removed. Traffic will be restricted to one lane during the removal. The southbound entrance and exit ramps are not expected to be affected.

Heavy construction truck traffic will be present throughout the project for the next several weeks, especially in the area of the Ohio 65 interchange and the Yoder Road area, near the Orthopedic Institute of Ohio complex.

Milling of the pavement throughout the entire project area in preparation for paving will begin the week of August 8 and will reduce traffic to one lane through the work zone. Paving of the final course of asphalt will begin the week of August 15.

Ohio 696 between Beaverdam and the Putnam County line will be restricted with traffic maintained during the week of August 15 for a chip and seal project. Work is being performed by the ODOT Allen County maintenance garage.

Ohio 117 between Bowman Road and the Auglaize County line will be restricted with traffic maintained for a chip and seal project. Work is being performed by the ODOT Allen County maintenance garage.

Ohio 309 will be impacted by several projects throughout the construction season as follows:

Ohio 309 (Elida Road) from Robb Avenue to Cole Street, Lima, is restricted for reconstruction of the curb and gutter, upgrade of traffic signals and resurfacing of the roadway. The continuous turn from eastbound Ohio 309 to Grand Avenue was permanently closed on March 14. Work is being performed by Smith Paving, Norwalk.

Drainage, curb replacement, resurfacing and pavement marking work is now complete.

Reconstruction of two traffic signals at Rosedale Ave. and Cole St. is ongoing and may result in short-term lane restrictions.

Ohio 309 (Elida Road) from Eastown Road to U.S. 30, including the village of Elida, is restricted for widening, curb and gutter installation, drainage improvements and resurfacing. The project will continue through the fall. Work is being performed by VTF Excavation LLC, Celina.

The following impacts are occurring or upcoming. Traffic patterns will change frequently:

Paving is under way from Elida to U.S. 30, Delphos, and will continue for the next two weeks.

Ohio 309 eastbound from Greenlawn Avenue to Eastown Road is maintained with two lanes westbound and one eastbound. The turn lane is maintained as well.

Traffic is reduced to one lane in each direction at various locations through this area for drainage installation. The restrictions will be in place from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. each day. Traffic delays should be expected.

Traffic patterns will change frequently through this section.

Ohio 309 (Harding Highway) from Bowman Road, Lima, to Ohio 235, Ada, closed June 6 until mid-August for culvert replacements at several locations. Access to area residences will be maintained. Through traffic will be detoured onto Ohio 235, Ohio 81 and Interstate 75 back to Ohio 309. Work is being performed by R.D. Jones Excavating, Harrod.

The entire length of roadway is closed to through traffic. Those not residing within or traveling to a business within the project area will be subject to fines by law enforcement.

Major work at all 12 culvert locations has been completed. Finish work and paving is now occurring.

The entire route is expected to reopen to traffic by Friday, August 12.

Ohio 65, Ohio 81, Ohio 117 and Ohio 309 pavement repair and resurfacing project will have the following impacts to traffic in the coming weeks. Work is being performed by Shelly Company, Lima:

Paving has been completed. Installation of pavement reflectors will take place in the coming weeks with traffic maintained through the work zone on Ohio 65/81 (North St.) between Jameson Avenue and Jackson Street, Ohio 117 (Spencerville Rd./Woodlawn Ave.) between Seriff Road and Elm Street, Ohio 117 between Ohio 309 (Harding Hwy.) and just east of Greely Chapel Road, and Ohio 309 (Jameson Ave.) between Cole Street and North Street. The project is expected to be completed by the end of the week.

Ohio 117 and Ohio 501 (Wapak Road) intersection realignment and widening project and construction of left-turn lanes on Ohio 117 began June 30. Work is being performed by Bluffton Paving, Bluffton. The following impacts to traffic are occurring or upcoming:

Wapak Road at the intersection of Ohio 117 is now open.

Ohio 501 south of Ohio 117 closed on Monday, July 25 for approximately 30 days. Traffic will be detoured onto Ohio 117, Ohio 198 and back to Ohio 501.

Auglaize County

Ohio 116 between Stoneybrook Drive and St. Marys River Road, BRIDGE CLOSURE July 25th – August 16th. The official detour is: Ohio 116 to Ohio 29 to US 33 to Ohio 197 to Ohio 116

Ohio 197 between Conant Road and Main Street, ROAD CLOSURE July 18th – August 15th. The official detour is: Ohio 198 to Ohio 117 to Ohio 66 to Ohio 197.

US 33 east between Ohio 29 and Ohio 66, 24 HOUR a day Lane closures July 7th – August 12th. One eastbound lane will remain open

Logan County

Ohio 508 between Township Road 30 and County Road 62, BRIDGE CLOSURE July 14th – August 5th. The official detour is: Ohio 235 to Ohio 47 to Ohio 68

US 33 between CR 57 and Ohio 540, 24 HOUR Lane closures May 9th – September 30th. One lane will remain open in each direction.

District Wide Chip and Seal project on Logan Ohio 287, Champaign Ohio 29, Champaign Ohio 245, Champaign Ohio 559 and Clark Ohio 41. Various lane closures April 18th – September 30th between the hours of 7 am and 5 pm. One lane will remain open for travel in each direction through the use of flaggers.

Ohio 274 between County Road 5 and Township Road 110, ROAD CLOSURE August 15th – 18th. The official detour is: US 68 to Ohio 273

Ohio 559 between Ohio 245 and Township Road 258, ROAD CLOSURE August 8th – 11th. The official detour is: Ohio 245 to US 33 to Ohio 287

Ohio 508 between Ohio 235 and US 68, BRIDGE CLOSURE August 9th – 30th. The official detour is: Ohio 235 to Ohio 47 to US 68

Hancock County

Interstate 75 from just south of Ohio 235 north of Bluffton to just south of the County Road 60 overhead near Rawson is reduced to one lane, both northbound and southbound, until Labor Day for a joint repair and resurfacing project. Currently the right lane in both directions is closed and will be switched to the left lane over the next couple of days. Work is being performed by Shelly Co., Findlay.

U.S. 68 from the Hardin County line to the U.S. 30 interchange restricted to one lane through the work zone for pavement repair and resurfacing. Work is being performed by Kokosing Construction, Mansfield.

U.S. 30 ramps at U.S. 68 and Ohio 37 in Hancock County, and County Road 330 in Wyandot County will be closed for pavement repairs and resurfacing. Work is being performed by Kokosing Construction, Mansfield. The ramps will be closed according to the following schedule:

At the U.S. 68 interchange, the following ramps closed August 4 for seven days:

Entrance ramp to westbound U.S. 30 from U.S. 68

Traffic will be detoured onto 81 to Ohio 235 back to U.S. 30

Exit ramp from eastbound U.S. 30 to U.S. 68

Traffic will be detoured 30 east to 37 to 20 west back to 68.

At the U.S. 68 interchange, the following ramps will close August 11 for seven days:

Entrance ramp to eastbound U.S. 30 to U.S. 68

Exit ramp from westbound U.S. 30 to U.S. 68

All ramps at the Ohio 37 interchange with U.S. 30 will close August 18 for seven days.

All ramps at the County Road 330 interchange will close August 25 for seven days.

Ohio 613 between Township Road 136 and County Road 139, west of Van Buren, is now open following a culvert replacement.

Interstate 75 between Perrysburg and County Road 99 north of Findlay will have the following restrictions through the fall during reconstruction and widening:

Through November, overnight lane restrictions, generally from 7 p.m. until 6 a.m., are possible on I-75 between the I-75/I-475 interchange in Perrysburg and County Road 99 in Hancock County. Through December, 11-foot lane width restrictions are in place on I-75 between U.S. 20 in Perrysburg and County Road 99 in Hancock County.

Through December, Township Road 101 in Hancock County, between County Road 220 and Township Road 142, is closed for bridge work over I-75.

Hardin County

The following roads will be restricted with traffic maintained for a joint seal project. Work is being performed by the ODOT Hardin County maintenance garage.

Ohio 53 from Township Road 114 to Township Road 28.

Ohio 67 from the city limits of Kenton to the Wyandot County line.

Ohio 235 from County road 92 to the Auglaize County line.

Ohio 273 from the Logan County line to the city limits of Mount Victory.

Ohio 309 from County Road 0 to County Road 145.

Ohio 701 from Ohio 68 to the intersection with Ohio 309.

Access to area residences will be maintained. Through traffic will be detoured onto Ohio 235, Ohio 81 and Interstate 75 back to Ohio 309. Work is being performed by R.D. Jones Excavating, Harrod.

Mercer County

Ohio 49 between the Mercer-Darke County line and Fort Recovery Corporation Limit, Various lane closures June 27th – August 29th between the hours of 7 am and 7 pm. One lane will remain open in each direction.

Ohio 49 between Ohio 29 and Ohio 707, Various lane closures June 27th – August 29th between the hours of 7 am and 7 pm. One lane will remain open in each direction.

Putnam County

Ohio 189 between Road 20-S and Road 20 will be closed beginning August 15 for approximately 5 days for a culvert replacement. Traffic will be detoured onto Ohio 190, U.S. 224, Ohio 115 and back to Ohio 189. Work is being performed by the ODOT Putnam County maintenance garage.

Ohio 696 between Ohio 12 and the Allen County line will be restricted with traffic maintained for a drainage repair. Work is being performed by the ODOT Putnam County maintenance garage.

Ohio 109 between Road E and Ohio 613, east of Miller City, is now open as of August 1 after a railroad repair.

Ohio 65 between East Broadway Street and Turner Street, West Leipsic, closed on August 1 for approximately five days for a railroad repair. Traffic is being detoured onto Ohio 613, Ohio 109, Ohio 18 and back to Ohio 65. Work is being performed by Roadsafe Traffic.

Ohio 65 from Columbus Grove to Leipsic, excluding the village of Ottawa, is restricted to one lane through the work zone for a resurfacing project. The section from the village of Leipsic to the village of Ottawa is essentially complete. Paving of the section from the village of Ottawa to the village of Columbus Grove is under way. Work is being performed by Bluffton Paving, Bluffton.

Ohio 12 through the village of Columbus Grove will be resurfaced beginning in the next few weeks at which time traffic will be restricted to one lane through the work zone. Work is being performed by Bluffton Paving, Bluffton.

Shelby County

I-75 north and south between CR 25A and Ohio 119, Nightly lane closures July 17th – August 14th between the hours of 6 pm and 7 am. One lane will remain open in each direction.

Ohio 47 between I-75 and Vandemark Road, Daily lane closures April 27th – September 30th between the hours of 7 am and 4 pm. One lane will remain open in each direction.

US 33 between Ohio 49 and Township Line Road, BRIDGE CLOSURE August 22nd – September 12th. The official detour is: Ohio 81 to Ohio 118

Van Wert County

U.S. 127 (Washington Street) between Fox Road and Ervin Road in the city of Van Wert closed April 11 for reconstruction and widening of the road. Access to local businesses is maintained. Traffic is detoured onto Ohio 81, Ohio 118, Ervin Road/Van Wert-Decatur Road, U.S. 224 and U.S. 30 back to U.S. 127. The closure will remain in place until fall. Work is being performed by Helms & Sons Excavating, Findlay.

The U.S. 127 (Washington St.) and Ervin Road intersection closed July 5 for approximately six weeks for reconstruction. Access to businesses and residences is available via Fox Road. The U.S. 127 and Ervin Road intersection is expected to re-open by Friday, August 12.

U.S. 224 along the ramp from eastbound U.S. 30 to westbound U.S. 224 closed on July 25 for approximately 30 days for a slide repair project. Traffic will be detoured onto U.S. 30 east to the U.S. 127 interchange. Exit north on U.S. 127 to the U.S. 30 westbound entrance ramp and follow back to U.S. 224. Work is being performed by Jutte Excavating, Fort Recovery.
