Summer crisis program continues seasonal cooling help

LIMA — The West Ohio Community Action Partnership is reminding eligible residents that cooling assistance is available during the hot summer months.

The Home Energy Assistance Summer Crisis Program will be running until Aug. 31, providing eligible Ohioans with assistance in paying an electricl bill or for air conditioning repairs. Eligible homes would include an elderly member 60 years old or older or to households that can prove a member is needing cooling for health reasons. The household gross income must be at or below 175 percent of the federal poverty guidelines to qualify, which would mean a family of four must earn $42,525 or less.
