WAPAKONETA — The Auglaize County Sheriff’s Office was investigating a possible sex crime that occurred late Monday at the Auglaize County Fair, the Sheriff’s Office announced in a written statement Wednesday.
“Preliminary information indicates a possible sex crime involving individuals who knew each other,” the statement read.
Sheriff Al Solomon assured the public there was no reason to be concerned about a sex offender lurking at the fair.
“This is an incident where the parties knew each other and an allegation has been made,” Solomon said.
The matter remained under investigation and no further details were being released late Wednesday.
