LIMA — A 62-year-old man facing life in prison on charges that accuse him of sex crimes against children was assigned a new trial date for Oct. 3.
Ronald Payne also has a motion hearing scheduled for Aug. 10. Payne faces 53 criminal charges including rape. The alleged crimes happened between Jan. 1, 2014, and Jan. 27, 2015.
One of the victims was a 12-year-old girl when the crimes began, and the other was a 15-year-old girl, a prosecutor said.
