Paulding Putnam Electric members under peak alert until 6 p.m.

PAULDING — Paulding Putnam Electric Cooperative is alerting members of a peak alert in effect from 1 to 6 p.m. today.

Hot weather conditions are creating high demands for electricity, putting strain on the electrical grid. Members are asked to conserve energy by raising the air conditioning thermostat by three to five degrees, as well as delaying any baking or laundry until the alert is no longer in effect.

Because of the predicted hot spell this week, there will likely be more alerts this week.

More information on the alert can be found at www.ppec.coop.
