G-Spot bar owner agrees to close down

LIMA — The owner of the G-Spot bar where a murder and another shooting took place this year has closed the establishment just before the city of Lima took steps to shutter it, Lima Law Director Tony Geiger said Monday.

Geiger was at his desk earlier this month when he received a call from the attorney representing the owner of the G-Spot. The attorney said they were closing it but had plans to redevelop another business at that location at 126 E. North St., Geiger said.

“As long as it’s closed the city will not be taking any kind of legal action,” Geiger said.

The city planned to pursue a nuisance violation because of safety concerns related to a recent murder at the bar and a shooting earlier this year that injured three people, Geiger said.

Geiger declined to identify the attorney or the owner saying it was a privileged conversation. The Allen County Auditor’s Office shows the property is owned by Bisman Investment LLC. The Ohio Secretary of State’s Office shows Bisman has a statutory agent, Kurt A. Bishop, and a representative of the business listed as Wesley B. Ullman.

Geiger said he plans to announce at Lima Mayor David Berger’s news conference Wednesday a plan for the city to take additional action against troubled bars. One bar on the list is the Main Street Irish Pub across the street from the Allen County Sheriff’s Office. City officials have been in discussions with the owner of that bar about solving the violence there, as well, Geiger said.

The first shooting at the G-Spot this year was March 28. Three people were shot during a fight inside the bar and additional shots were fired outside. All survived their wounds.

Earlier this month, Remeal Ingram, 26, was killed when he was shot in the parking lot of the G-Spot.
