LIMA — An 18-year-old man was indicted this week on aggravated murder and other charges over the killing of a man.
Jayleon’Tre Harris of 915 Michael Ave., also was indicted on aggravated robbery with a gun and aggravated burglary with a gun. The charges are over the May 19 shooting death of 46-year-old Eric Staup, of Lima. Staup was shot in the upper torso at his home at 637 N. Metcalf St.
Harris was at Staup’s home to rob him and during the robbery shot Staup multiple times, investigators said.
The Allen County grand jury also returned 20 other public indictments this week. Those indicted and their charges are:
Albert A. McDowell, 16, two counts of murder with a gun and felonious assault with a gun.
Andre M. Hamilton, 27, of Romulus, Mich., possession of heroin.
Mary E. Moses, 35, of Raleigh, Mich., possession of heroin with forfeiture specification.
Casey L. Smith, 24, of 108 W. 15th St., two counts of kidnapping and rape.
Lavonte C. Collins, 20, of 948 Leland Ave., carrying a concealed weapon and improperly handling firearms in a motor vehicle.
Thomas B. Watkins, 39, of 641 N. Union St., kidnapping with a firearm specification and repeat violent offender specification, aggravated robbery with a firearm specification and repeat violent offender specification, two counts of felonious assault with a firearm specification and repeat violent offender specification, and having weapons while under disability.
Curtis L. Miles, 23, of 226 W. Grand Ave., improperly handling firearms in a motor vehicle and carrying a concealed weapon.
Quwentez D.L. Smart, 21, of 4 Elmview Court, carrying a concealed weapon.
Dameon D. Watkins, 18, of 454 Marian Ave., burglary.
Jonathan W. Williams, 51, of 201 N. Elizabeth St., No. 602, two counts of rape.
Anthony L. Campbell, 53, of 308 W. Vine St., kidnapping and robbery.
Austin L. Conrad, 22, of 619 Catalpa Ave., carrying a concealed weapon.
Verronald Brown Jr., 27, of 1140 S. Union St., felonious assault with firearm specification and having weapons while under disability.
Michael W. Blackburn, 41, of Russells Point, breaking and entering.
Dennis J. Wrona, 62, of 211 S. Woodlawn Ave., assault.
Travis W. Cook, 21, of 516 W. Vine St., burglary with a repeat violent offender specification.
Billie J. Campbell, 22, of 435 W. Kibby St., harassment with a bodily substance.
Brandon M. Jones, 30, of 147 E. Eureka St., illegal conveyance of a deadly weapon or dangerous ordnance in a courthouse, illegal possession or control of a deadly weapon or dangerous ordnance in a courthouse.
Morgan D. Harris, 21, of 515 Prospect Ave., carrying a concealed weapon.
Jeffery L. Simpson, 40, of 777 Greenlawn Ave., kidnapping and robbery.
