Woman charged with OVI after crash on I-75

LIMA — A woman who crashed her car in a construction zone on Interstate 75 on Wednesday evening will be charged with drunken driving, a state patrol lieutenant said Thursday.

Elisha Green, 37, of Atlanta, was charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated and failure to control her vehicle. She was driving north on the interstate at 7:37 p.m. when she entered a split in the highway due to construction near 4th Street in Lima, Lt. David Brown of the Lima Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol said.

She tried to enter the left lane, was going too fast and crashed, with her vehicle overturning, Brown said.

Green and two passengers were treated for non-life threatening injuries at Lima Memorial Health System. Everyone was wearing a seat belt, Brown said.

Green’s vehicle crashed off the interstate far enough that the interstate was not closed, Brown said.
