Road construction and maintenance projects

Allen County

Interstate 75 from the Auglaize County line to Fourth Street, through Lima and Allen County, will have occasional lane closures throughout the year during the final year of the reconstruction of the interstate. Current and upcoming impacts to traffic are as follows:

•Traffic on I-75 north and south of the Ohio 65 interchange area continues to travel in a contraflow pattern where two southbound lanes and one northbound lane of traffic are traveling on the southbound side of the interstate, and one northbound lane is traveling on the northbound side of the interstate. Traffic will remain in this pattern until late summer.

•Traffic on I-75 northbound will be reduced to one lane through the contraflow zone Monday through Thursday of the week, from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. while bridge beams are set for the Ohio 65 interchange bridge and for the railroad bridge to the north (east) of the interchange.

•Traffic on Ohio 65 will be maintained but controlled with flaggers during the operation.

•On Monday from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m., the exit ramp from northbound Interstate 75 to Ohio 65 will be closed.

•Traffic will be detoured north on Interstate 75 to Fourth Street to Interstate 75 southbound back to Ohio 65.

•Beginning Tuesday and continuing through Thursday, from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. each day, both the northbound entrance and exit ramps at the Ohio 65 interchange will be closed.

•Exit ramp traffic will be detoured north on Interstate 75 to Fourth Street to Interstate 75 southbound back to Ohio 65.

•Entrance ramp traffic will be detoured south onto Interstate 75 to Breese Road back to Interstate 75 northbound.

•Heavy truck traffic will be present throughout the project for the next several weeks, especially in the area of the Ohio 65 interchange and the Yoder Road area, near the Orthopedic Institute of Ohio complex.

•Hanthorn Road over Interstate 75 remains closed. The bridge is expected to reopen to traffic in approximately one week.

•Paving of the final layer of asphalt throughout the project is expected to take place in late July and early August.

Additional Allen County projects:

Interstate 75 northbound will be restricted to one lane through the work zone at the Ohio 696 overhead for pavement repairs. Work is being performed by the ODOT Allen County maintenance garage.

Interstate 75 northbound and southbound will be restricted to one lane at the Ohio 81 overhead for pavement repairs. Work is being performed by the ODOT Allen County maintenance garage.

Ohio 309 will be impacted by several projects throughout the construction season as follows:

•Ohio 309 (Elida Road) from Robb Avenue to Cole Street, Lima, is restricted for reconstruction of the curb and gutter, upgrade of traffic signals and resurfacing of the roadway. The continuous turn from eastbound Ohio 309 to Grand Avenue was permanently closed on March 14. Work is being performed by Smith Paving, Norwalk.

•Drainage, curb replacement and resurfacing work are now complete.

•Final pavement markings and reconstruction of two traffic signals at Rosedale Ave. and Cole St. will occur in late June or July and may result in short-term lane restrictions.

•Ohio 309 (Elida Road) from Eastown Road to U.S. 30, including the village of Elida, is restricted for widening, curb and gutter installation, drainage improvements and resurfacing. The project will continued through the fall. Work is being performed by VTF Excavation LLC, Celina.

The following impacts are occurring or upcoming. Traffic patterns will change frequently:

•Ohio 309 eastbound from Pioneer Road to East Road is maintained with two lanes westbound and one eastbound. The turn lane is maintained as well.

•Traffic will continue to be reduced to one lane in each direction at various locations through this area for drainage installation. The restrictions will be in place from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. each day for approximately three additional weeks. Traffic delays should be expected.

•Ohio 309 (Harding Highway) from Bowman Road, Lima, to Ohio 235, Ada, closed June 6 for approximately 70 days for culvert replacements at several locations. Access to area residences will be maintained. Through traffic will be detoured onto Ohio 235, Ohio 81 and Interstate 75 back to Ohio 309. Work is being performed by R.D. Jones Excavating, Harrod.

•The entire length of roadway is closed to through traffic. Those not residing within or traveling to a business within the project area will be subject to fines by law enforcement.

Ohio 65, Ohio 81, Ohio 117 and Ohio 309 pavement repair and resurfacing project is occuring. Impacts to traffic will be as follows. Work is being performed by Shelly Company, Lima:

•Ohio 65/81 (North St.) between Jameson Avenue and Jackson Street, Ohio 117 (Spencerville Rd./Woodlawn Ave.) between Seriff Road and Elm Street, Ohio 117 between Ohio 309 (Harding Hwy.) and just east of Greely Chapel Road, and Ohio 309 (Jameson Ave.) between Cole Street and North Street will be resurfaced with asphalt pavement in the coming weeks. Work is being performed by Shelly Company, Lima.

•Ohio 65 from Yoder Road to East 4th Street will be closed beginning on June 27 for approximately three days for culvert replacements. Traffic will be detoured onto Interstate 75 to East 4th Street back to Ohio 65. Work is being performed by the ODOT Allen County maintenance garage.

•Ohio 117 and Ohio 501 (Wapak Road) intersection realignment and widening project will begin June 27. The project will also construct left-turn lanes on Ohio 117. Work is being performed by Bluffton Paving, Bluffton. The following impacts to traffic are upcoming:

•Wapak Road north of Ohio 117 will be closed beginning June 27 for approximately 30 days.

•Ohio 117 through the project area will be restricted to one lane beginning June 27.

Auglaize County

•SR 65 between Southland Road and Sellers Road, Daily lane closures June 13th – July 30th between the hours of 7 am and 7 pm. One lane will remain open for travel in both directions through the use of flaggers.

•SR 66 between St. Marys-Kossuth Road and CR 66A, Lane closures May 23rd – July 1st. Traffic will be maintained in each direction through the use of a shoulder closure.

•District Wide- Shoulder Closures on I-75 in Mercer, Shelby and Auglaize Counties, Auglaize US 33, Mercer SR 29, and Darke US 127. Various shoulder closures May 16th – July 15th between the hours of 7 am and 4 pm. Lanes will remain open, but the shoulders will be closed.

•I-75 between US 33 and Bellefontaine Street, Nightly lane closures May 16th – June 18th between the hours of 6 pm and 7 am. Two lanes will remain open.

•I-75 between US 33 and Bellefontaine Street, 24 hour lane width restriction May 16th – June 18th. Lanes will be restricted to 11 feet with a 1 foot shoulder.

•US 33 east near Blackhoof Street, 24 HOURlane closure May 16th – June 17th. One eastbound lane will remain open.

•I-75 between SR 274 and National Road, Daily lane closures April 25th – July 29th between the hours of 3 am and 3 pm. One lane will remain open in each direction.

•Auglaize- US 33 east between US 33A and Blackhoof Street, 24 HOURlane closure June 20th – July 11th. One eastbound lane will remain open. *The US 33A ramp will also be closed during this time. The official detour is: 33 west to Moulton-Ft. Amanda Road to US 33 east

•Auglaize- US 33 A eastbound Ramp to US 33, 24 HOUR RAMP CLOSURE June 20th – July 11th. The official detour is: US 33 west to Moulton-Ft. Amanda Road to US 33 east

Hancock County

Interstate 75 between Perrysburg and County Road 99 north of Findlay will have the following restrictions through the fall during reconstruction and widening:

•Through November, overnight lane restrictions, generally from 7 p.m. until 6 a.m., are possible on I-75 between the I-75/I-475 interchange in Perrysburg and County Road 99 in Hancock County. Through December, 11-foot lane width restrictions are in place on I-75 between U.S. 20 in Perrysburg and County Road 99 in Hancock County.

•On June 22 and June 23 from approximately 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. each day, traffic on I-75 northbound and southbound between U.S. 224 and Ohio 613 will be reduced to one lane while traffic is switched into a new pattern. Traffic will be moved into the inside laned to allow the outside lanes to be constructed.

•Through December, Township Road 101 in Hancock County, between County Road 220 and Township Road 142, is closed for bridge work over I-75.

Hardin County

Ohio 309 will be impacted throughout the construction season as follows:

•Ohio 309 from County Road 171 just east of Kenton to the Marion County line is restricted through the work zone for resurfacing which began May 17. Work is being performed by Shelly Co., Findlay.

•Ohio 309 (Harding Highway) from Bowman Road, Lima, to Ohio 235, Ada, closed June 6 for approximately 70 days for culvert replacements at several locations. Access to area residences will be maintained. Through traffic will be detoured onto Ohio 235, Ohio 81 and Interstate 75 back to Ohio 309. Work is being performed by R.D. Jones Excavating, Harrod.

•The entire length of roadway is closed to through traffic. Those not residing within or traveling to a business within the project area will be subject to fines by law enforcement.

•U.S. 68 between Walnut Street and Perry Street in Kenton closed June 6 for a railroad repair project. The project will keep the road closed through the week. Traffic is detoured onto Carrol Street, Ohio 31, Ohio 53 back to U.S. 68. Work is being performed by CSX Transportation.

•Ohio 273 between Ohio 292 and Township Road 179, Mount Victory, closed June 6 for approximately three weeks for a railroad repair project. Traffic is detoured onto Ohio 292, Ohio 31, and back to Ohio 273. Work is being performed by CSX Railroad.

•Ohio 701 between County Road 115 and County road 105 is now open.

Logan County

•SR 274 between Railroad Street and Buckeye Street, 24 HOUR ROAD CLOSURE June 10th – 24th.The official detour is: US 33 to SR 117 to SR 274

•US 68 between East Township Route 219 and West Township Route 219, 24 HOUR ROAD CLOSURE June 10th – 24th.The official detour is: US 68 to SR 273

•US 33 between CR 57 and SR 540, 24 HOUR Lane closures May 9th – September 30th. One lane will remain open in each direction.

•District Wide Chip and Seal project on Logan SR 287, Champaign SR 29, Champaign SR 245, Champaign SR 559 and Clark SR 41. Various lane closures April 18th – September 30th between the hours of 7 am and 5 pm. One lane will remain open for travel in each direction through the use of flaggers.

Mercer County

•District Wide- Resurfacing project on Mercer SR 119, Mercer SR 274, Shelby SR 29 and Shelby SR 119 Various lane closures June 13th – July 29th between the hours of 6:30 am and 7 pm. One lane will remain open for travel in each direction through the use of flaggers.

•SR 703 between SR 29 and SR 364, Daily lane closures June 6th – July 29th between the hours of 7 am and 7 pm. One lane will remain open for travel in each direction through the use of flaggers.

•SR 29 between Hellwarth Road and Burkettsville-St. Henry Road, 24 HOUR BRIDGE CLOSURE June 7th – July 1st. The official detour is: SR 118 to SR 219 to SR 49

•District Wide- Shoulder Closures on I-75 in Mercer, Shelby and Auglaize Counties, Auglaize US 33, Mercer SR 29, and Darke US 127. Various shoulder closures May 16th – July 15th between the hours of 7 am and 4 pm. Lanes will remain open, but the shoulders will be closed.

•SR 118 between Lange Road and SR 219, Daily lane closures May 2nd – June 30th between the hours of 7 am and 7 pm. One lane will remain open for travel in each direction through the use of flaggers.

•SR 29 between Enterprise Street and US 33, Daily lane closures April 18th – July 30th between the hours of 7 am and 5 pm. These closures will be in Mercer and Auglaize counties. One lane will remain open at all times.

•SR 119 between SR 118 and the Indiana State line, Daily lane closures April 12th – June 15th between the hours of 7 am and 5 pm. One lane will remain open for travel in each direction through the use of flaggers.

•Mercer- SR 707 between Indiana-Ohio State Line Road and SR 49, 24 HOUR ROAD CLOSURE June 27th – July 1st.The official detour is: SR 49 to SR 29/IN 67 to US 27 to IN 218/SR 707

•Mercer- SR 29 between Indiana-Ohio State Line Road and SR 49, 24 HOUR ROAD CLOSURE July 11th – 15th.The official detour is: SR 49 to SR 707/IN 218 to US 27 to IN 67/SR 29

Putnam County

•Ohio 613 will be restricted with traffic maintained from Ohio 15 to County Road 1 for a berm replacement project. Work is being performed by the ODOT Putnam County maintenance garage.

•Ohio 65 between County Road A and County Road B is now open after a railroad repair.

•Ohio 65 from County Road D to Ohio 12 will be restricted with traffic maintained starting on June 20 for multiple pavement repairs. Work is being performed by the ODOT Putnam County maintenance garage.

•Ohio 66 between County Road N and County Road P will be closed on June 27 for approximately 5 days for a culvert replacement. Traffic will be detoured onto U.S. 224, Ohio 637, Ohio 114 and back to Ohio 66. Work is being performed by the ODOT Putnam County maintenance garage.

•Ohio 65 between County Road F-6 to Ohio 12 and Ohio 12 between Ohio 65 and Ohio 115 will be restricted with traffic maintained on June 20 for a pavement repair project. Work is being performed by the ODOT Putnam County maintenance garage.

Shelby County

•District Wide- Resurfacing project on Mercer SR 119, Mercer SR 274, Shelby SR 29 and Shelby SR 119 Various lane closures June 13th – July 29th between the hours of 6:30 am and 7 pm. One lane will remain open for travel in each direction through the use of flaggers.

•District Wide- Shoulder Closures on I-75 in Mercer, Shelby and Auglaize Counties, Auglaize US 33, Mercer SR 29, and Darke US 127. Various shoulder closures May 16th – July 15th between the hours of 7 am and 4 pm. Lanes will remain open, but the shoulders will be closed.

•I-75 north and south between Vandemark Road and CR 25A(Sidney), Nightly lane closures May 2nd – July 4th between the hours of 6 pm and 10 am. One lane will remain open in each direction.

•SR 47 between I-75 and Vandemark Road, Daily lane closures April 27th – July 31st between the hours of 7 am and 4 pm. One lane will remain open in each direction.

•Sharp Road between CR 25A and Thompson Schiff Road, 24 HOUR BRIDGE CLOSURE April 18th – June 18th. The official detour is: Sidney-Freyburg Road to Ft. Loramie-Swanders Road to CR-25A

•Michigan Street between Pomeroy Avenue and Oak Avenue, 24 HOUR BRIDGE CLOSURE April 4th – August 5th. The official detour is: Michigan Street to Highland Avenue to Oak Avenue

•SR 29 between Wells Road and McCartyville Road, 24 HOUR SHOULDER CLOSURE March 21st – July 29th. Lanes will be restricted to 12 feet with shoulders closed. One lane will remain open in each direction.

Van Wert County

•U.S. 127 between Ohio 116 and County Road 18 will be restricted with traffic maintained for pavement repairs. Work is being performed by the ODOT Van Wert County maintenance garage.

•U.S. 127 (Washington Street) between Fox Road and Ervin Road in the city of Van Wert closed April 11 for reconstruction and widening of the road. Access to local businesses is maintained. Traffic is detoured onto Ohio 81, Ohio 118, Ervin Road/Van Wert-Decatur Road, U.S. 224 and U.S. 30 back to U.S. 127. The closure will remain in place until fall. Work is being performed by Helms & Sons Excavating, Findlay.

•U.S. 224 along the ramp from eastbound U.S. 30 to westbound U.S. 224 will be closed in the late summer for approximately one month for a slide repair project. Work is being performed by Jutte Excavating, Fort Recovery.
