Blanchard River in Ottawa hits flood stage, but minor flooding unlikely

OTTAWA — The Blanchard River in Ottawa reached its action stage today, but it’s not expected to rise to a flooding level, according to the National Weather Service’s Advanced Hydrologic Prediction Service.

The flood-prone river reached 20.41 feet as of 7:30 a.m. today, with an expected crest of 21.5 feet at 2 p.m. today. That’s a foot and a half short of the minor flood stage of 23 feet.
