Lima man charged in bar shooting

LIMA — One of the two men accused in the shooting of three people inside a bar last month has been indicted by the grand jury.

Donovan Peoples, 19, is charged with felonious assault with a gun, illegal possession of a gun in a liquor permit premise, having weapons while under a court sanction and illegally carrying a concealed weapon.

He has a pretrial scheduled for May 10.

The other man, Cameron I. Lott, 20, has a case pending and is expected to face similar charges.

The two men are suspects in the shooting inside the G-Spot Bar, 126 E. North St., on March 28. Three people were shot during a fight inside the bar. More shots were fired outside, but no one was hit. The three did not suffer life-threatening injuries.

Investigators tracked Lott to an apartment at 128 W. McKibben St. in the hours that followed the 2:30 a.m. shooting and found him inside. Lot tried to fight officers, kicking one in the face and punching another in the face.

Lott and Peoples are not old enough to legally purchase a handgun or obtain a concealed handgun license in Ohio.
