International contingent in Lima for religious leadership gathering

LIMA — A group of women from around the world gathered Friday in Lima as part of an effort to expand a ministry and their religion.

Sharon Jefferson, the Apostle Bishop of New Creation Ministry International in Lima, organized the women’s leadership conference that began Wednesday and runs to Tuesday. A group of women, all ministers from around the globe, gather for prayer and to discuss ways to spread their religion.

The group includes women from three continents and a handful of states in the United States.

“To have this here in Lima is very special. It’s about unity and unifying,” Jefferson said.

About 3,600 women around the world belong to the overall ministry the women associate with, Jefferson said.

While the women held prayer services in person, such services often are held by a conference call each week since the women are spread all over the world, Jefferson said.

Bishop Priscilla Otuya of Nigeria is with United Gospel Churches Association of Nigeria, the Global Alliance of Mother of the Nations and Grace Evangel Church. She said all women share a common belief that they can come together to spread the word of God and pass that on to help other people, including taking it back to their home churches.

“After this meeting, we believe God is going to raise women to direct the things of this world, to teach people what to do. How to live in peace. How to make a godly impact, how to live economical,” Otuya said.

Apostle Charlie Hardaway-Weathersby of New Beginnings 88 International Free Church from Indiana, said the world is a tough place, but if people set aside their wicked ways and turn to God, He will heal the land which means the world.
