LIMA — The Lima Allen County Safe Community Coalition and Motorcycle Ohio are stressing to all riders to wear safety gear, especially a helmet.
Five motorcyclists in Allen County were involved in fatal crashes last year, none of whom were wearing helmets. There were 45 motorcycle crashes involving 53 riders in Allen County last year of which 38 were injured, the coalition reported.
With warmer temperatures here, the group is reminding motorists to look out for motorcyclists, use turn signals and give motorcyclists room on the road by avoiding tailgating or driving too close.
