Concerts bring teens’ faith to life

LIMA — Teens trying to live their faith came to Lima on Friday night for the kickoff of the Converge Teen Conference.

The weekend got off to a rocking start with a concert by Christian rock band Tenth Avenue North as part of its “All the Earth is Holy Ground 2016 Tour.” Guest artists Hawk Nelson and I Am They opened the show.

The conference jumps to its next level today, with three nationally known keynote speakers and 27 workshop leaders. During the conference, teens will participate in Operation: Love Lima, a community outreach with as many as 1,000 students and adult volunteers distributing 80,000 pounds of food to families and individuals in need this afternoon.

The Converge Teen Conference wraps up with teens literally converging on Lima’s Town Square at 5:30 p.m. today for a prayer service involving more than 1,000 people.
