K-Kids of Heritage Elementary School held food drive

LIMA — The K-Kids of Heritage Elementary School held a schoolwide food drive to benefit the local veterans food pantry in February. The club collected 1,640 cans/boxes of food, toilet paper and paper towels. The winning classroom was awarded with a popcorn party.

The K-Kids of Heritage Elementary School are members of the Kiwanis Family of Clubs.

Bath Elementary holding Kindergarten screening

LIMA — Bath Elementary will be conducting kindergarten screenings Tuesday through April 7. Contact the elementary school office to schedule your child’s kindergarten screening by calling 419-221-1837.

Columbus Grove business students explore manufacturing

COLUMBUS GROVE — Students from Columbus Grove High School and their business teacher, Howard Foltz, visited Diamond Manufacturing of Bluffton. This enabled the students to see what manufacturing looks like from the inside out. Gene Heitmeyer, general manager of Diamond Manufacturing of Bluffton, guided the students through the manufacturing process of the company.

Diamond Manufacturing of Bluffton participates in the Link Lima Site Visit program. This program is intended to give high school students a behind-the-scenes look at manufacturing and the skill trades, hoping to showcase the careers that are available to the students.

Accompanying Foltz were students from the Business Strategies and Principles of Finance classes, including Tyler Brooks, Mackenzie Clymer, Victoria Elderbrock, Brooke Hoffman, Wyatt Mayberry, Sisto Pardo, Phillip Vance, Jordin Basinger, Adam Birkemeier, Preston Brubaker, Danielle Caudill, Jade Clement, Lachlan Clymer, Gage Gerdeman, Hallie Malsam, Kirsten Malsam, Joshua McCauley, Macy McCluer, Chassidy Oatman, Logan Ridenour, Rece Roney, Renee Schroeder, Gracyn Stechschulte and Ryan Tabler.

LCC seniors present ‘The Wizard of Oz’

LIMA — The senior class at Lima Central Catholic High School will present the play, “The Wizard of Oz” on April 15 and April 16 at Encore Theatre. Both performances start at 7 p.m. The class play is under the direction of Nancy Bronder and Jacob Litwiller.

Tickets are $10 and available at the LCC Business Office. Seating is limited and all seats are reserved. Call 419-223-2411 for ticket information during school days, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Celina student receives scholarship

CELINA — Christian Berry, a senior at Celina High School, was awarded a $1,000 third place scholarship from Ohio Line Supervisors Association Scholarship competition.

Berry is the son of Matt and Denise Berry, of Celina. His father works for Midwest Electric.

The Ohio Line Supervisors Association is an association of the line supervisors of 25 electric cooperatives in Ohio and West Virginia, affiliated with Ohio’s electric cooperatives.

Lincolnview drama students present ‘Ghost, the Musical’

LINCOLNVIEWTickets are on sale for Lincolnview’s play, “Ghost, the Musical.”

Show dates are April 8, 9, 10, 14, 16 and 17. Showtimes are 7:30 p.m. weekdays and Saturdays; and 2 p.m. on Sundays. Tickets are $8 for adults and $6 for students and can be purchased at the school or by calling, 419-968-2214, ext. 3242 or email [email protected].

Bluffton University offers educational classes for retirees

BLUFFTON — Bluffton University’s Institute for Learning in Retirement, an educational program for retirees, is offering multiple courses on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays this spring beginning Monday.

Tuition for the full spring term is $100; individual class costs can be requested from the director.

Spring courses include Monday at the Movies; Prose, Poetry, Scriptures and Psalms; Shaking up Wellness for Seniors; What is PowerPoint?; and How They Do It: A Comparison of Sexual Life Cycles in the Animal Kingdom, The Mammals.
