VAN WERT — Curtis J. Prenger, 23, of Van Wert, was found dead in a car that had driven off U.S. 30 early Wednesday, and it was determined he died of a self-inflicted gunshot.
A news release from the Van Wert County Sheriff’s Office states the cause of death was determined by the Lucas County Coroner’s Office. The investigation shows, according to the release, that he shot himself while driving east on U.S. 30 near Ringwald Road. The 9 mm handgun was found inside the vehicle. He was driving alone, officials stated.
