Columbus woman killed in crash on state Route 117

WAYNESFIELD — A Columbus woman was killed in a crash on state Route 117 early Monday.

Nakeysha Hampshire Johnson, 37, was taken to Lima Memorial Health System, where she died a short time later after the 1:14 a.m. crash on Route 117, a half mile southeast of the Allen-Auglaize county line, the Wapakoneta post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol reported.

The driver of the other vehicle, Lisa Mijajlovic, of Columbus, was listed in stable condition at Lima Memorial, a hospital spokesman said.

Johnson was driving northwest on Route 117 when she drove left of center for a unknown reason and struck head-on a Jeep driven by 22-year-old Mijajlovic, the patrol reported.

Both vehicles had heavy damage. Johnson had to be extricated from her car, as did Mijajlovic from her Jeep.

Both drivers appeared to be wearing seat belts, and alcohol was not a factor, the patrol reported.

The crash remained under investigation, the patrol reported Monday afternoon.
