No one injured in attic fire in Lima

LIMA — No one was injured in an overnight fire that was being blamed on an electrical problem in the attic.

Firefighters were called to 1221 N. McCullough St. at 12:29 a.m. Wednesday to extinguish an attic fire that appears to have started at an electrical junction box in the attic too close to insulation, said Lima Fire Battalion Chief Greg Kirkendall.

Chad Hittle lives at the home, but it is owned by Rollie and Jeanine Craig, according to Kirkendall and Allen County Auditor’s Office records.

The fire caused an estimated $2,500 in damage, Kirkendall said.
