LIMA — Food plays a starring role during the holiday party season. So, too, does the stress involved in creating a menu and a shopping list then timing the preparation and the cooking so that everything arrives hot and delicious and looking good enough to, well, eat.
The Taste of Home Cooking School and Expo, sponsored by The Lima News and Chief Supermarkets, comes at just the right time. The Dec. 8 event at Veterans Memorial Civic Center offers recipes, preparation tips and inspiration.
“One thing we found we all have in common is our love for food, and this is a great time to appreciate that,” said Pamela Stricker, publisher of The Lima News. “We look forward to engaging with our readers and enjoying a fun night.”
The expo’s vendors and booths will be available from 4 to 7 p.m. The cooking show follows, starring Chef Eric Villegas, a two-time Emmy Award winner for his show, “Fork in the Road with Eric Villegas.”
Villegas was a popular presenter at Taste of Home two years ago.
The event is an offshoot of the popular Taste of Home Magazine. Participants get gift bags with free copies of the magazine and coupons. General admission is $10. Tickets are available at the door or by calling The Lima News at 419-223-1010 or visiting its office at 3515 Elida Rd., Lima, 419-223-1010.
Other sponsors include Lima Memorial Health System, Allan Nott Honda and Tracy’s Appliances.
