Coaches vs. athletes game rescheduled

LIMA — The Lima Senior High School girls soccer program will present the first-ever Pink Flag Football Match at 6 p.m. Thursday at Spartan Stadium. This game was originally scheduled for last week but was canceled because of heavy rain.

The breast cancer awareness event will feature Lima Senior High School coaches and non-football athletes competing against each other.

The cost of admission is $2. Proceeds will go to the Health Partners of Western Ohio’s Women’s Health Clinic. There will be raffles during the game and trophy and MVP presentations.

Liberty Touring Company to perform at conference

LIMA — The Liberty Touring Company is set to perform at the Ohio School Boards Association’s Capital Conference and Trade Show where they will sing and dance in front of an audience of 3,000.

The 50-plus member group from Liberty Arts Magnet School will perform at 10:30 a.m. Nov. 11 at the Greater Columbus Convention Center. The yearly conference attracts school officials and school board members from around the state. It runs Sunday through Nov. 11.

The students will perform the national anthem, another patriotic-themed piece and then portions of its regular show. While the group does 15 performances around the community each school year, the conference is by far its biggest audience.

Delphos St. John’s celebrates Halloween

DELPHOS — Several staff members at Delphos St. John’s Junior High and High schools dressed up as doctors, nurses and patients last week for Halloween.

The students celebrated the holiday with a Halloween-themed “Minute-to-Win-It” game show assembly and a talent show in order to raise funds for St. Vincent de Paul Society. The students raised more than $1,000, which will go toward families in need in Delphos.

Crestview senior receives award

CONVOY — Brady Guest, a senior at Crestview High School, was named a School Winner for the Wendy’s High School Heisman Award, which highlights exceptional high school seniors and their achievements in the classroom, on the field and in the community.

Guest will move on to the next stage of the program where she could be named a state finalist. For 22 years, Wendy’s, in partnership with the Heisman Memorial Trophy, has recognized outstanding students and rewarded their commitment and achievements to academics, athletics and community on a national level.

Apollo holding Christmas craft show

LIMA — Apollo Career Center will hold its 26th annual Christmas at Apollo Craft Show from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Dec. 5.

Admission is $2, and children 12 years old and younger are free. Proceeds from the craft show are divided among the Apollo student clubs to fund community service projects and assist students competing at state and national competitions.

One of the largest shows in the region, Apollo Career Center hosts more than 100 crafters. Nick Earl, craft show supervisor, encourages crafters to get their registrations in now. Sandwiches, snacks and drinks are available for purchase.

Wapak students to perform ‘Cinderella’

WAPAKONETA — In her own little corner, Cinderella dreams of a better life. With the help of a fairy godmother and some glass slippers, she meets her Prince Charming, this time on the stage of Wapakoneta High School’s Performing Arts Center.

The high school’s annual musical is set for Nov. 12 to 15, opening with an understudy performance at 8 p.m. Nov. 12. The main cast will perform at 8 p.m. Nov. 13 and 14, and at 2 p.m. Nov. 15. Tickets are $10 and are now on sale for all performances.

The cast of the musical is also offering a meet-and-greet session before the Sunday matinee performance. Lunch and tea with Cinderella, Prince Charming and their friends is available from noon to 1:30 p.m. for a cost of $10. Those attending are invited to wear their princess gowns and/or princely attire; photos with the cast will be available. The event will be held in the high school cafeteria. Tickets are being sold separately at Casa Chic in downtown Wapakoneta.
