False bomb threat reported at Wapak Middle School

WAPAKONETA — Wapakoneta Middle School students and staff had to spend some time at the high school Friday after a bomb threat was reported.

A threat was written on a folder in a classroom, and many students have access to it. A school official called police at 9:52 a.m. to report what was written.

Allen County Regional Bomb Squad and bomb-sniffing dogs assisted in clearing the building. Nothing was found. Students and staff were allowed to resume the day once the building was cleared.

Assisting at the scene was Auglaize County Sheriff’s Office, the Allen County Regional Bomb Squad, the Wapakoneta Fire Department and the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

The incident remains under investigation.
