Parenting program to begin next week at Lima City Schools

LIMA — Leaders for Spartan Success, a parent leadership program offered by Lima City Schools, begins its next session next week.

The eight-week session covers topics such as positive parenting, creating confident children, communication, discipline practices, strategies for success, and how parents can help their children achieve academically. Nearly 25 parents took part in the program, which began last school year. Several parents who went through the program will act as facilitators.

The sessions will be held at Freedom, Heritage, Independence and Unity elementary schools, South Science and Technology Magnet School, Liberty Arts Magnet School, and Lima North Middle School. Sessions are held once a week. Parents need to attend all eight sessions to graduate.

Any parent in the Lima City Schools is welcome to participate at whichever site works best with their needs. To sign up, contact Parent Liaison Shelly Williams at 419-996-3615 or [email protected].
