Kenton facility celebrates major expansion

KENTON — Business and community leaders in Kenton gathered Monday to mark the completion of a $70 million expansion project at International Paper’s manufacturing facility in Kenton.

The project is expected to create 150 jobs in Hardin County. International Paper Co. Chairman and CEO Mark Sutton was joined by U.S. Sen. Rob Portman, U.S. Reps. Jim Jordan and Bob Latta, U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown, and local elected officials to celebrate the expansion.

“This expansion will create jobs and expand production for International Paper here in Ohio,” Brown said. “This company is not just a global leader in the paper industry, it’s a critical part of Hardin County’s economy.”
