Aug. 24

Joseph N. Chandler, 30, 329 N. Main St., Columbus Grove, pleaded guilty to burglary. He faces up to 36 months in prison and $10,000 in fines. Bond was continued while a pre-sentence investigation is conducted with sentencing set for 11 a.m. Sept. 21.

Emily Murphy, Ottoville, and Ryan Murphy, Lima, were granted a dissolution of marriage. They were married April 30, 2010 in Ottoville, and have one child.

Aug. 25

Curtis R. Michael, 32, 1020 N. McDonel St., Lima, pleaded guilty to rape. He faces up to 11 years in prison and $20,000 in fines. Bond was continued while a pre-sentence investigation is conducted with sentencing set for 2 p.m. Sept. 29. Michael was originally indicted on two counts rape.

Jennifer A. Edelbrock, 48, 607 N. Fifth St., Kalida, was sentenced to 40 days jail for theft. Restitution of $17,250 was paid to the Kalida Band Boosters. Edelbrock also is scheduled to stand trial Jan. 5 in Allen County who is charged with two counts of grand theft involving the theft of money from the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post in Spencerville. Edelbrock also is being sued by an insurance agent who accused her of stealing more than $300,000 of investment funds from employees of his agency including himself, but has not been charged in that case.

A jury trail for Daniel Tijerina, 53, 930 W. Belmore St., Leipsic, was set for 9 a.m. Nov. 2 with two days allotted. Tijerina is charged with stopping after accident or collision involving injury to persons of property, obstructing official business, possessing criminal tools, aggravated menacing and theft. Tijerina is accused of pointing a revolver at Putnam County Sgt. Kevin Siefker on May 6 after Siefker attempted to serve him a summons for failing to stop after an accident. According to Putnam County Prosecutor Gary Lammers, Siefker identified himself as a deputy from the Sheriff’s Office and Tijerina opened the door with a revolver pointed at Siefker. Siefker moved back, pulled his weapon and commanded Tijerina to put down the revolver, Lammers said. After a brief standoff, Tijerina put down the weapon and Siefker served the summons and left and returned the next day to arrest him. Deputies searched his home the day after the incident and found a stolen firearm.

Aug. 26

Victor Paniagua, 49, 102 E. Maple St., Continental, pleaded guilty to rape and gross sexual imposition. He faces up to 15 years in prison and $30,000 in fines. He also pleaded guilty to disseminating matter harmful to juveniles. He faces up to 18 months in prison and $5000 in fines on that charge Bond was revoked while a pre-sentence investigation is conducted with sentencing set for 11 a.m. Oct. 7. He was originally charged with two counts rape, two counts gross sexual imposition and disseminating matter harmful to juveniles.

Benjamin J. Ybarra, 33, 423 N. Cory St., Findlay, was granted early release and placed on electronic monitoring and home arrest through Nov. 1, 2015. He was convicted of falsification.

Andrew Tate, 19, 201 S. High St., Columbus Grove, was found in violation of supervision. The violation included failing to successfully complete the WORTH Center program. Sentencing was continued to see if the WORTH Center is willing to readmit.

Mark. A. Schroeder, Ottawa, was granted a divorce from Lisa M. Schroeder, Ottawa. They were married Sept. 7, 2013 in Leipsic, and have no children.

Aug. 21

David R. Torman Jr., 44, 2765 County Road 203, Cloverdale, was found guilty of domestic violence during a trial before the court. Sentence: 180 days jail, 160 days suspended, $150 fine and assessment ordered at Pathways Counseling Center.

Aug. 24

Josiah R. Logan, 40, 18271 Road I-17, Cloverdale, pleaded guilty to assault. Sentence: 180 days jail, 170 days suspended, $250 fine and no contact with victim for two years.

Brad D. White, 38, 114 W. Northland Drive, Kalida, pleaded guilty to an amended charge of second-offense reckless operation. Sentence: Four points, 30 days jail, 27 days suspended, $250 fine, with credit for three days jail upon completion of DIP and complete assessment at Pathways Counseling Center.

Charles J. Gillette, 28, 8618 Road M, Ottawa, pleaded no contest to criminal trespass and was found guilty. Sentence: 30 days jail, suspended, $150 fine and no contact with victim for one year.

Heather L. Aquirre, 38, 631 W. Sycamore St., Apt. A9, Columbus Grove, pleaded no contest to possession of drug paraphernalia and was found guilty. Sentence: Six months license suspension, and $150 fine.
