Paulding Putnam Electric Cooperative issues peak alert for this afternoon

PAULDING — Paulding Putnam Electric Cooperative asked its members to conserve electricity this afternoon, as the electric provider issued a peak alert.

Warmer temperatures and the load forecast left the cooperative with the peak alert from 3 to 6 p.m. It expected a very high demand for electricity. Temperatures are expected to reach 85 degrees.

It asked people to conserve energy to help keep power costs down. The group suggested turning air conditioning thermostates up 3 to 5 degrees and delay baking or laundry.
