DELPHOS — A new accounting and tax service in Delphos held its grand opening Tuesday with a ribbon-cutting ceremony that featured chamber of commerce members and Delphos Mayor Michael Gallmeier.
TriCounty Accounting & Tax Services, 209 S. Main St., is owned by Delphos native Charles Kroeger, who recently returned to the area after living in Toledo and Cincinnati.
The company offers payroll solutions, accounting services and tax preparation for small-business owners, nonprofits and individuals.
Kroeger said what will set his business a part from other accounting and tax services is his tenacity.
“I don’t take ‘no’ for an answer, and I’m a fighter, especially for the little guy,” Kroeger said.
Kroeger is also the only employee at TriCounty, which he said is a good thing for his clients.
“When you come in here, you’re dealing with the owner of the business,” Kroeger said. “I’m going to answer your call right away, and I’m not going to let anything just sit. I’m committed to see the situation handled.”
Kroeger returned to Delphos initially to recuperate from a car accident he was in several months ago. He said he was a passenger in a car when the driver hit a concrete wall and spun out across three lanes of traffic on Interstate 75. He suffered a broken hip, and spent around three weeks in the hospital.
While recovering at his parents house in Delpohs, Kroeger said he saw the need for an accounting service in the city.
On Aug. 25, Delphos accountant Jennifer Edelbrock was sentenced to 40 days in jail for stealing $17,250 from the Kalida Band Boosters. Authorities raided the Edelbrock-Reitz accounting firm at 945 E. Fifth St., in Delphos, on May 19, as part of an investigation into possible financial crimes.
